The first acknowledgement of the event, in 1213, as a component of the singular and secular event in Italy, the holiday for the assumption of the Virgin Mary. At the time, strictly created and participated by the Nobility - the citizens were bystanders, as they watched skilled horsemen (military men) be hired to ride the horses of the city's well to do.
And thus, the Palio eventually found its way into the city center and run in the jewel, Piazza del Campo. First in the mid 1600's with the newly created July race, to be eventually followed the race in August; all of which was ruled over by the Contrada themselves, setting the traditions we can witness today.
Our first Palio was in July 1998 - details unknown, but soon to be captivated by the intensity of the event itself; so much so that we sought to return every year and created the company we have today to do just that!
One of Italy's greatest events, Carnevale di Venezia provides excitement for all.
Our participation began in 2003; our own parties in 2010 and here we are today: 3 parties to select from on the last weekend of the event; its most active days.
Originated in 1927, the event marked the beginning of auto racing in Italy.
The course is changed from year to year, but ultimately, now over 5 days, starting in Brescia, down to Rome and back. Over 400 participants are a part of this adventure.
