Matera

Matera is a city on a rocky outcrop in southern Italy. It includes the Sassi area, a complex of cave dwellings carved into the mountainside. Evacuated in 1952 due to poor living conditions, the Sassi were reclaimed by the locals in the past years and has been the site for two recent movies -  "The Passion of the Christ"  and James Bond "No Time to Die".

Lecce

Matera

Lecce

Lecce, know as the "Florence of the South" for its renaissance architecure, is renowned for its cucina povera – it literally means “poor cuisine”, but refers to the tasty home cooking of rural families who make the most of seasonal, local produce.
